David and his wife Chris live in the beautiful rolling hills and mountains of East Tennessee. He paints a wide variety of idyllic landscapes, typically in oil on stretched canvas.
David writes: How many times have you seen a sunrise, or thought about a mountain vista, or a stormy ocean, and felt something? Something bigger than yourself? That feeling, that energy, is why I put brush to canvas.
My passion for creating means that to me a blank canvas is an enormous opportunity; a chance to create a place in time, perhaps someplace I have already been or somewhere I want to be.
I like to help you, the viewer, feel the warm and humid air surrounding a Florida river; hear the silence of a freshly fallen snow; or breathe in the clean mountain air in the Himalayas.
But maybe you, when you look at my work, see something else. Maybe you see the frozen pond where you used to ice skate, near the schoolhouse of your childhood. Or your favorite vacation destination.
However my art speaks, I hope it moves you like it moves me.
